The Devils lost, 3-5, their fourth consecutive game (0-4-0) from Feb. 6-11, which matches their season-long streak set last month (also, 0-4-0, Jan. 20-25).  The Devils were also swept, 0-2-1, by the Bruins in their 2017-18 season series, going win-less for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Center Travis Zajac was awarded a penalty shot at 6:06 of the first period while New Jersey was shorthanded (P. Domingue; Goal).

Miles Wood scored on a breakaway to tie the game at 1-1 at 16:26 of the first period.  It was the Boston College alumnus’ 15th of the season and his first point since Dec. 30 at BUF.  Wood’s goal tied the game at 1-1.  BOS D Torey Krug scored the game’s opening goal (unassisted) less than three minutes before Wood’s tally.

Taylor Hall,  led New Jersey’s resurgence, scoring his 21st goal of the season.  Last night at Columbus, Hall’s personal 12-game, points-streak, 8G-9A-17PTS from Jan. 2 -Feb. 8. was snapped.  Hall compensated his 0PT night Saturday evening, by adding the primary assist on Kyle Palmieri’s goal, that tied the game at 3-3 going into the third period.  Hall has 17-multi-points game this season.

Palmieri’s goal was his 13th of the season and has goals in back-to-backs.  Palmieri was the only player that had at least one point in NJD’s 1-6 loss at Nationwide Arena.

The Devils are 2-3-4 when the score is tied after two periods this season.

The third period was score-less until Boston defenseman Adam McQuaid broke the tie at 11:55.  It was his first goal of the season. The Bruins added an empty-netter to seal the win at 5-3.
