Devils Announce 2017 Prospects Challenge Roster

Today, the New Jersey Devils announced the team’s roster for the 2017 Prospects Challenge that will take place Friday, September 8 through Monday, September 11 at HarborCenter in Buffalo, NY. The Devils will join the Sabres, Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins in a round-robin challenge featuring prospects from each team.

The roster consists of 27 players (three goaltenders, nine defensemen and 15 forwards).

Included on the roster are three of the club’s last four first-round picks (John Quenneville, Michael McLeod and this year’s #1 overall selection, Nico Hischier) and recent college free agent signing, defenseman Will Butcher.

Five of the players skated with New Jersey last season: defensemen Michael Kapla and Steven Santini, and forwards Nick Lappin, John Quenneville and Blake Speers.

New Jersey’s schedule of games is as follows:

-Friday, Sept. 8, Buffalo vs. New Jersey, 7 p.m.

-Saturday, Sept. 9, New Jersey vs. Pittsburgh, 3:30 p.m.

-Monday, Sept. 11, Boston vs. New Jersey, 12 p.m.
