Team Notes

  • New Jersey and Dallas split their season series 1-0-1. Each game between the two clubs was decided in OT. The Devils have not lost to the Stars in regulation on home-ice since the 1999-2000 season (8-0-3).
  • The Devils are 9-13 in the three-on-three overtime period in 2016-17.
  • The Devils have one remaining game vs. a Western Conference opponent on Tuesday when they take on the Winnipeg Jets at Prudential Center. The Devils are 10-11-6 vs. the Western Conference and are 5-5-3 vs. the Central Division.
  • New Jersey completed their 16th of 18 sets of back-to-back games. The club is 5-7-4 in first games and is 7-5-4 in second games of back-to-backs.
  • The Devils did not have a power play opportunity tonight. The club was 2-4 on the penalty-kill, and is 7-11 over the last five games.
  • New Jersey was out-shot, 21-32, including 5-10 in the third period.

Player Notes

  • Plano, Texas native Blake Coleman scored the first goal of his NHL career to put New Jersey ahead 1-0 in the first period. He is the second Texas-native to score a goal for the Devils this season (Stefan Noesen).
  • Andy Greene played in the 700th game of his NHL career. He is the 15th player to skate in 700 or more games with the Devils’ franchise. He led the club with 19:59 of ice-time tonight and blocked three shots.
  • Keith Kinkaid started his 20th game of the season, which ties his career-high for starts and his career-high for games played in a season (23) set in 2015-16. He stopped 30 of 32 shots and fell to 7-11-3 on the season.
