The Devils improved to 3-0-0 against the Flyers this season and have out-scored their opponent, 14-3, over their three matches.

The club wore their retro red and green jerseys for the second time this season and for the 10th time since donning the current red and black sweaters at the start of the 1992-93 season. The Devils are 4-6-0 in retro-games.

Joseph Blandisi notched his first game-winning goal of 2016-17. Taylor Hall (EV, EN) and Adam Henrique (2 EV) each had two-goal games. Hall has 3g-1a-4pts over his last three games, while Henrique has 2g-1a-3pts over is last two games. Kyle Palmieri had one goal and one assist for his 12th two-point game of the campaign. He has eight goals over his last 11 games and leads New Jersey with 23 goals.

Travis Zajac notched his 430th and 431st career points to pass Scott Stevens for sole possession of eighth all-time in franchise history.

Dalton Prout recorded the first point of his Devils’ career on Henrique’s first goal.

Keith Kinkaid stopped 17 of 19 shots tonight and improved to 7-9-2 this season. 



Jacob Josefson (upper body, seven games missed) is day-to-day.

Michael Cammalleri (upper body, six games missed) is week-to-week.

Devante Smith-Pelly (lower body, two games missed) is day-to-day.

Tomorrow is the fourth of five meetings between New Jersey and Pittsburgh this season. The Devils are 0-2-1 vs. the Penguins this season and are searching for their first win against their division rival since Mar. 23, 2016 (3-0). The clubs will meet for their season-series finale on Apr. 6 at Prudential Center. 

The Devils are 9-9-3 vs. the Metropolitan Division and are 16-20-7 against Eastern Conference opponents. Tomorrow’s match concludes the Devils’ 15th of 18 sets of back-to-back games. New Jersey is 5-6-4 in first games and is 7-4-3 in second games of back-to-backs.

Kyle Palmieri has scored at least one point in each of his last five games against the Penguins (4g-2a). Taylor Hall has three assists over his last three games vs. Pittsburgh.

Travis Zajac was 22-29 in the faceoff circle on Feb. 19 at the NY Islanders. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Zajac’s 75.9% winning-percentage was the second highest in the NHL out of the 75 prior instances of a player taking 29+ faceoffs in a game this season (Patrice Bergeron, 23-29 (79.3%)).

Zajac’s 29 faceoffs on Feb. 19 was the fifth-most he’s taken in one game this season. On Feb. 27 vs. MTL, he won 20 of 30 draws (66.7%).


Kyle Palmieri has eight goals and five assists over his last 11 games. He leads New Jersey with 23 goals and 46 points (tie, Hall). Palmieri set a career-high 30 goals and 57 points in the 2015-16 season.


The Devils have scored on the power play 14 times over the last 18 games. The Devils are 14-41 (34.1%) on the power play since Feb. 1, which ranks first in the NHL during that time-frame.


Pavel Zacha ranks third among NHL rookies (tie, J. Vesey, A. Matthews, S. Aho) with five power play goals. Nine of Zacha’s 18 points this season have come on the man-advantage.


Alexander Kerfoot (Harvard) was named one of the 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award on Wednesday. Kerfoot had a career-high 16 goals and 40 points in 31 games with the Crimson this season. He is also a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Player of the Year Award.

Joey Anderson (Minnesota-Duluth) was named to the 2016-17 NCHC All-Rookie Team. Anderson leads all NCHC freshmen with 19 assists (28pts) in 33 games.


Keith Kinkaid stopped 43 of 44 shots and 2 of 2 shootout attempts in a winning effort Dec. 29 at Wsh. It was his second 40+ save performance of the season. On Jan. 13 at Cgy. he saved 31 of 32 shots for his fifth win of the season. He stopped 35 of 36 shots Jan. 21 at Phi. He stopped 20 of 21 shots in relief of Cory Schneider on Mar. 11 at Ari. Has a .916 save-percentage this season.

Had first career point Feb. 19 at NYI when credited with a secondary assist on Taylor Hall’s PP goal.


New Jersey suffered its first regulation loss at home on Dec. 9 vs. Stl., 1-4, after establishing a new franchise record, 8-0-2, for the longest streak of being undefeated in regulation at home to start a season (previously, 1987-88, 8-0-1). The Devils are 14-13-6 at home.


Stefan Noesen had two goals in his first two games with New Jersey since being claimed off waivers from Anaheim on Jan. 25. Noesen is the first Devil to score in his first two games with the club since Devante Smith-Pelly (Mar. 1-3, 2g-1a). Noesen had his first NHL assist on Feb. 14 vs. Col.


Damon Severson leads defensemen and is sixth on the Devils in scoring with 3g-27a-30pts. He has five multi-point games this season and is third on the club in assists. Severson surpassed his career-high of 21pts with an assist Jan. 17 at Min. in his 46th game of 2016-17. He had 1g-20a-21pts in 72 games played in 2015-16. 


Kevin RooneyBlake SpeersBlake ColemanYohann Auvitu, John Quenneville and Nick Lappin have all made their NHL debuts with New Jersey this season. The Devils have had 10 rookies play in at least one game this season which is the second most (tie, Arizona) in the NHL.

Travis Zajac appeared in his 700th career game, all with New Jersey, on Oct. 13, 2016.  He ranks 9th all-time in games played in Devils’ history and is 7th all-time among forwards. He passed Sergei Brylin for 8th all-time among skaters with 766 games Mar. 16 vs. Phi.  He notched 2a on Mar. 16 vs. Phi to pass Scott Stevens with 431 points in franchise history.  Zajac scored 1g on Feb. 18 vs. NYI to tie Wilf Paiement (153g) for 9th all-time in franchise history.  On Feb. 21 vs. Ott., he passed Bobby Holik for 9th all-time in franchise history with 271 assists.   


Mar. 17, 2009 – In the Devils’ 3-2 win vs. the Blackhawks, Martin Brodeur established a new NHL record with 552 career regular-season wins. Patrik Elias recorded an assist, passing John MacLean as New Jersey’s all-time leading scorer.
