Team Notes

  • The Devils finished their season series 1-1-0 against the Coyotes and are now win-less in their last ten games (0-8-2). 
  • With the loss, New Jersey is 5-6-3 against the Pacific Division and is 10-11-5 against Western Conference opponents. The Devils are now 5-1-0 in their last five meetings against the Coyotes.  
  • The Devils were 1-2 on the power play tonight and are 1-8 (12.5%) over their last five games.
  • New Jersey was 1-3 on the penalty-kill and are 11-14 (78.6%) short-handed over the last 5 games.
  • The Devils were out-shot by the Coyotes, 31-30.
  • At 1:27 of the first period, New Jersey requested a Coach’s Challenge to review whether Arizona was off-side prior to Radim Vrbata’s goal. NHL Hockey Operations staff determined that the Coyotes entered the attacking zone legally prior to the goal. Therefore the original call stands – good goal Arizona Coyotes.

Player Notes

  • Kyle Palmieri notched two goals tonight and leads the team with 22 goals. He now has 11 multi-point games this season and tied a season-high with six shots on net. 
  • Beau Bennett netted his fourth goal of the season, his first since Jan. 17 at Min., at 12:09 of the second period. Bennett now has two points (1g-1a) in his last two games. 
  • Taylor Hall and Joseph Blandisi assisted Palmieri’s power play goal. Both Hall and Blandisi have two assists in their last two games. 
  • Hall was awarded a penalty shot at 17:22 of the third period. He was unsuccessful in his attempt, and is now 1-4 in his career on penalty shots. 
  • Damon Severson had his 5th multi-point game of the year after recording two assists. Severson is now tied with Travis Zajac for second on the team with 26 assists. 
  • Adam Henrique added an assist on Palmieri’s second goal and led the team with four hits. 
  • John Moore scored his 7th goal of the season at 15:02 of the third period and was a plus-3 +/- along with Damon Severson. 
  • Pavel Zacha and Miles Wood had the assists on Moore’ s goal. 
  • Cory Schneider stopped 6 of 10 shots and was replaced by Keith Kinkaid at 4:13 of the second period. Kinkaid stopped 20 of 21 shots and fell to 6-9-2. 
  • Ben Lovejoy led the Devils with 21:56 TOI and four blocked shots.
