Team Notes

  • The Devils improved to 2-0-0 in 2016-17 against the Flyers and closed-out their 11th of 18 sets of back-to-back games. New Jersey is 3-5-3 in first games of back-to-backs and is 6-2-3 in the second contest.
  • New Jersey is now 7-1-1 at Wells Fargo Center and are 13-3-3 overall against Philadelphia since the 2012-13 season. 
  • The Devils are now 6-4-2 against the Metropolitan Division and are 11-12-5 against Eastern Conference opponents.
  • New Jersey was out-shot, 36-29.
  • The Devils power play was 2-7 and is 4-15 (26.7%) with the man-advantage over the last five games.
  • New Jersey converted on a 0:17 five-on-three man advantage at 15:51 of the second period and is now 1-6 with a two-man advantage this season. 
  • The Devils penalty-kill was 6-6 and is 17-21 (81.0%) over the last five games.

Player Notes

  • Pavel Zacha opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the year at 7:11 of the first period. 
  • Kyle Palmieri notched the game-winning goal and his 11th of the season on the power play at 15:51 of the second period. He now has six points (3g-3a) in his last six games and scored the Devils first five-on-three power play goal this season.
  • Miles Wood scored twice for the Devils and recorded the first multi-point game of his NHL career. He also led the Devils with five shots and 9 PIM. 
  • Michael Cammalleri had two assists in the second period and now has 15 on the season.
  • P.A. Parenteau assisted Palmieri’s goal and has three assists in his last three games.
  • Taylor Hall assisted Wood’s power play goal at 4:26 of the third period. Hall has six points (2g-4a) in his last six games.
  • Jacob Josefson, Kyle Quincey, Steven Santini and Karl Stollery each added an assist in the Devils win.
  • Damon Severson led the Devils with six blocks and 4 hits on the night.
  • Jon Merriill recorded a team high 24:53 TOI.
  • Keith Kinkaid stopped 35 of 36 shots (.972 save%) and improved to 6-5-2 on the season.
