Team Notes

  • New Jersey had their three-game points-streak (1-0-2) snapped and fell to 0-1-1 on their four-game road-trip.
  •  The Devils are now 3-7-3 on the road this season and 10-7-5 overall.
  • New Jersey has matched its season-high win-less streak of three games (also Nov. 17-21, 0-3-0).
  • The Devils are now 2-1-1 vs. the Central Division and 4-4-1 vs. Western Conference opponents overall.
  • The Devils are 1-3-0 at MTS Centre and are 2-5-0 vs. Winnipeg overall since the 2013-14 season.
  • The Devils were 0-4 on the power play tonight and are 3-17 (17.6%) over the last five games with the man-advantage.
  • New Jersey’s penalty-kill units were a perfect 5-5 tonight and have not surrendered a shorthanded goal in the past three games (13-13).
  • New Jersey was successful in eliminating a Jets’ five-on-three power play for 1:41 in the second period. The Devils are 3-for-3 when facing a five-on-three shorthanded situation in 2016-17.
  • The Devils were awarded their second penalty-shot of 2016-17 when Miles Wood was illegally defended on a breakaway at 14:33 of the second period. He did not score on the shot and is 0-1 in his NHL career.
  • New Jersey was out-shot, 25-29, including 14-22 over the first two periods.

Player Notes

  • Miles Wood scored the first goal (and point) of his NHL career at 2:52 of the third period in his first appearance since Oct. 15 (19 games).
  • Nick Lappin scored his fourth goal of the season at 7:58 of the third period to cut the Jets’ lead to 3-2. It was Lappin’s first goal since Nov. 19 at LA (four games).
  • Damon Severson notched the sole assist on Lappin’s tally and leads all Devils’ defensemen with 13pts (3g-10a).
  • Adam Henrique had the assist on Wood’s goal. He has two points (1g-1a) over his last three games.
  • Kyle Palmieri skated in his 300th career NHL game and led New Jersey with four shots on goal.
  • Cory Schneider made his 17th start of the season and fell to 8-6-3 on the season. He stopped 26 .of 29 shots (.897 save %).
  • Travis Zajac led all Devils with 23:54 of ice-time tonight and was 14-25 (56%) in the faceoff circle.
  • Beau Bennett (right leg laceration) missed his first game of 2016-17 due to injury.
