Team Notes

  • The Devils dropped the second half of back-to-back home games and now have a record of 1-4-0.
  • New Jersey out shot New York, 26-24.
  • The Devils were 30/64 (47%) in the face-off circle tonight.

Player Notes

  • Cory Schneider (20 saves) made his third start of the pre-season and went the distance for the second time this pre-season.
  • Reid Boucher scored at 2:34 of the second period for his second goal of the pre-season. He now has goals in back-to-back games. Boucher has now played in three consecutive games since returning from a concussion.
  • Stefan Matteau netted a power-play goal at 19:22 of the third period.  Pavel Zacha recorded an assist and his first point in pre-season action. Zacha was also 5/7 (58%) in the faceoff circle tonight.
  • Joseph Blandisi recorded a primary assist on Matteau’s goal.  He now has points in back-to-back games. Blandisi led the OHL with 52 goals last year.
  • Kyle Palmieri scored his first goal of the pre-season tonight and recorded four penalty minutes. The Montvale, NJ-native is entering his first season with the club after being acquired at the 2015 NHL Draft.
