Prospect Report 3/23/15

New Jersey Devils prospect highlights from this past week include:

  • Brandon Baddock finished the regular season with 19g-21a-40pts and was fourth in the WHL with 136 PIM in 71 games for Edmonton. The Oil Kings will face the Regular Season Champion Brandon Wheat Kings in the first round of the WHL Playoffs, which begin on Thursday.
  • Joseph Blandisi finished the season with a ten-game scoring streak (6g-9a-15pts), led the OHL with 52g and was fourth in overall scoring with 112pts in 68 games for Barrie (OHL). The Colts entered the OHL Playoffs as the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference and will open their first round series vs. Belleville on Thursday.
  • Anthony Brodeur made 25 saves, picked up an assist and earned the win in his final start of the season for Drummondville (QMJHL) on Saturday. Brodeur finished 8-10-4, with one shutout, a 3.84 goals-against average and .879 save-percentage in 32 total games for Dummondville & Gatineau.
  • Connor Chatham finished with 17g-20a-37pts in 48 games for Plymouth (OHL). Chatham has been sidelined since March 3 due to a wrist injury.
  • Blake Coleman scored all three goals for Miami University of Ohio in its 3-2 win over St. Cloud State to capture NCHC Tournament Champion on Saturday. Coleman had 7g-5a-12pts  in five post-season games, was named NCHC Tournament MVP & to the NCHC All-Tournament Team. The Red Hawks will enter the NCAA Tournament as the #1 Seed in the East Regional and will take on Providence at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence on Saturday.
  • Joshua Jacobs finished his freshman season at Michigan State (Big 10) with 0g-9a-9pts in 35 games for the Spartans.
  • Alexander Kerfoot totaled 1g-6a-7pts in five ECAC Tournament games for Harvard, as the Crimson won their first conference championship since 2006. Harvard enters the NCAA Tournament as the #3 Seed in the Midwest Regional and will face Nebraska-Omaha at Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, IN on Saturday.
  • Ryan Kujawinski closed-out the regular season on a three-game goal-scoring streak (5g) and finished with 31g-25a-59pts overall in 61 combined games for Kingston and North Bay (OHL). Kujawinski posted 21g-15a-36pts in 34 games with the Battalion, who enter the playoffs as the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference. North Bay will open its playoff series vs. Kujawinski’s former team, Kingston, on Friday.
  • Blake Pietila scored a power play goal in Michigan Tech’s (WCHA) 5-2 loss to Minnesota State in the WCHA Championship Game on  Saturday. The Huskies enter the NCAA Tournament as the #2 Seed in the West Regional and will face-off against St. Cloud State at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND on Friday.
  • John Quenneville posted 2a in each of the final two games of the regular season and finished with 17g-30a-47pts in 57 appearances overall for Brandon (WHL). The Wheat Kings won the WHL Regular Season Title and will open the playoffs vs. Edmonton on Thursday.
  • Ryan Rehill scored his seventh goal of the season at Prince George on Wednesday and finished with 7g-13a-20pts in 68 games for Kamloops (WHL). Rehill finished tied for fifth in the league with 128 PIM.
  • Steven Santini has posted 1g-4a-5pts and 20 PIM in 20 games for Boston College (HE) this season. The Eagles are the #3 Seed in the East Regional and will face Denver at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Provindence, RI on Saturday.
