  • New Jersey fell to 3-4-1 at Prudential Center this season and to 10-13-4 overall.
  • The Devils were 1/2 on the penalty-kill tonight but are 37/41 (90.2%) over the past 12 games.
  • New Jersey out shot Washington 34-29, including by a margin of 15-4 in the third period.

Player Notes

  • Cory Schneider (25 saves + ENG) made his NHL-leading 26th start and fell to 10-12-3 on the season.
  • Patrik Elias scored his third goal of the season and now has 396g and 995pts in his NHL career. He returned to the lineup tonight after missing Thursday’s game at Toronto (groin).
  • Dainius Zubrus recorded the primary assist on Elias’s goal and has points in back-to-back games (0g-2a-2pts) for the first time this season/since a four-game stretch from December 7-14, 2013 (3g-2a-5pts).
  • Andy Greene also assisted on Elias’s tally, his 8th assist/point of the season.
  • Jaromir Jagr appeared in the 1,499th game of his career and tied Mike Modano for 15th in NHL history. Steve Yzerman (1,514 GP) is 14th. Jagr returned to the lineup tonight after missing Thursday’s game at Toronto (flu).
  • Jacob Josefson and Damien Brunner were healthy scratches.
