Game Notes

  • The Devils improved to 3-1-1 in the pre-season.
  • New Jersey out shot New York, 22-21, on the night.
  • Cory Schneider (20 saves + 2/2 SO) made his second start of the pre-season and improved to 1-1-0
  • Mike Cammalleri scored his first goal with New Jersey, a power play tally at 3:16 of the first period.
  • Damien Brunner assisted on Cammalleri’s marker and now has 3PPA over the last two games. He also led the Devils with four shots on goal tonight.
  • Travis Zajac scored the game-determining goal in the shootout and also assisted on Cammalleri’s goal, his first point of the pre-season.
  • Ryane Clowe and Jon Merrill both made their pre-season debut tonight. Merrill had missed the first four contests due to an upper body injury, while Clowe appeared in a game for the first time since March 31 vs. Florida.
  • Andy Greene (maintenance) and  Scott Gomez (maintenance) did not play tonight.

  • Tomorrow: New Jersey Devils Training Camp will continue tomorrow with an 11:00 AM session at AmeriHealth Pavilion at Prudential Center. Media looking to attend should enter the Event Staff Entrance off Lafayette Street (between the Ford VIP Parking Deck and the arena). Television crews looking to shoot the session should be in place and ready for 10:50 AM.
