World Championships Update

  • The 2014 IIHF World Championships are underway in Minsk, Belarus. Head Coach Peter DeBoer is serving as an Assistant for Team Canada under Dave Tippett, Jaromir Jagr will represent the Czech Republic, Damien Brunner is playing for Team Switzerland and Raman Hrabarenka is skating for Belarus.
  • Jagr assisted on the only goal in the Czech Republic’s 1-0 win over Norway yesterday. He now has 3g-3a-6pts in six games overall. The Czech Republic (2-1-2-1) will face-off against France in its final game of the preliminary round tomorrow
  • Brunner had one assist in Switzerland’s 6-2 victory over Kazakhstan yesterday. He now has 2g-3a-5pts in six games overall. The Swiss team (2-0-1-3) will play its final game of the preliminary round on Tuesday vs. Latvia
  • Hrabarenka and team Belarus improved to 3-0-0-2 with a 5-2 victory over Germany yesterday. He has one assist and is +2 in five games in the tournament thus far. Belarus will take on Latvia today.
  • Team Canada defeated Sweden, 3-2, in overtime today to improve to 4-1-1-0. They’ll complete their preliminary round schedule on Tuesday vs. Norway.
